Double Dale's
Rating:
What did you think of it? Never Tried It
Pale amber in color, mostly transparent, with one finger of off-white, foamy head with lots of lacing. Aroma seems pretty balanced, with hops and malt. The taste has a more hop forward profile, with tropical fruit, stone fruit, and pine. It’s a big, bold hoppiness that you expect from a 9% DIPA. The malts are more in the background, but there’s a distinct malty sweetness like monkey bread with hints of caramel. Full bodied with moderate carbonation and a chewy mouthfeel. Bitterness is really spot on, where it doesn’t dominate the taste, but it shows up on the back end to provide a long, peppery bite in the finish. Overall this is a pretty good DIPA and a nice offering from Oskar Blues.
